Drones

Drones have been hovering around for years, from their dark exploits in war situations to the positive side of use in firefighting and effective mine surveying. Even though there’s still debate about regulations on drone usage in public places, they’re here to stay. Here are some of our favourite drone breakthroughs:

But when you’ve got traffic, even when it’s in the sky, you need a police force to keep an eye on it. Especially when they’re moving at 20 metres per second, as achieved by the DARPA research group:

Which is why Tokyo now have police drones to take down offenders and jaywalkers (skywalkers?):

There are now even eagles being trained for the same task. And with Google’s project Skybender experimenting with drones to provide 5G internet coverage - 40 times faster than 4G - it looks like the sky’s the limit. And with that in mind, have a look at the Lily:
