Finger Jumper

Finger Jumper

Is the hand quicker than the eye, or is it the other way around? Put this to the test with nothing but two rubber bands and your hand.

Guide lines
Ready, Steady, Go!

Place a rubber band over your first and second fingers, as per the first photograph.

You:

Are you a betting person? Let’s find out.

Lend me your ears

Use the other rubber band to link the top part of your fingers together, as per the photo.

You:

Now I reckon I can move the lower band from my first and second fingers to my third and fourth fingers without moving the top rubber band… think it’s possible?

Seal the Deal and Reveal

Stretch the bottom band outwards, place your fingers against your palm and stretch the lower band onto the top of your fingers. When you open your hand, the band will have incredibly jumped across.

Some extra lines you can try

  • You’ve got to hand it to me, that was pretty good.
  • It’s not all in the wrist, it’s in the fingers.
  • Lucky you didn’t take a cash bet with me.
Alternative ending

Show them that you’re ambidextrous by using the same technique to make the band jump back to your first two fingers.
