Flying Spoon

With a long enough lever, you can move the world… it’s all about leverage. For this you don’t need a massive lever or the planet Earth, just a spoon, a fork, a coffee cup and a flat surface.

Guide lines
Ready, Steady, Go!

Get someone’s attention, the more the merrier.

I’ve got a question for you… do you think it’s possible to get this teaspoon into the mug without touching it?

You should have them stumped.

Lend me your ears

Place the spoon and the fork back to back right up to the coffee cup. Make sure the handle of the spoon is against the cup. Place the handle of the fork under the working end of the first spoon. Now you’re ready.

Are you ready to find out how it’s done?

Seal the Deal and Reveal

Firmly bang the working end of the fork.

It should flick the spoon upwards following an arc trajectory, and into the coffee cup.

Practice makes perfect.

Some extra lines you can try

  • I should’ve bet you a cup of coffee if I got it right.
  • Nothing brings people close together like spooning.
Alternative ending

Add an element of risk by betting a cup of coffee on your next series of flicks, best of three, or take it out of the office to a pub to win a drink or impress friends.
