Milking It

Milking It

When we don’t engage our brain, we can often start making associations that aren’t necessarily true. Try this out with a few simple sentences placed in a specific order. Have fun and milk it.

Guide lines
Ready, Steady, Go!

Find a willing participant.

Start by asking them to say the word 'SILK' five times…

Lend me your ears

Now ask them to spell the word ‘SILK’.

Immediately follow this with the question, “What do cows drink?”

The person will quite likely blurt out the answer without thinking, “milk.”

Seal the Deal and Reveal

You:

No, not milk, they actually drink water…

Some extra lines you can try

  • They also don’t wear silk.
  • But they do enjoy going to the moo-vies.
  • I’ve tried this brainteaser on everyone, I’m really milking it.
Alternative ending

Ask if you can run the questions again and see if you can still get them to answer ‘milk’. Then replace the cow question with, “What do baby cows drink?”
