For eight years, three Frenchmen have worked to get their ground-breaking all-terrain vehicle ready. Their unique off-roader uses a spider-like layout with four separate limbs, four electric motors and independent suspension. Driving this, you’ll also stand out more than all the high-end Range Rovers and Porsche Cayennes when you arrive at a country event.
When riding across slopes, the wheels are perfectly parallel to the angle of the cockpit, which hangs down. The driver’s centre of mass stays between the wheels and below the hubs, making the Swincar able to travel up and down 70% grades and across grades of 50%, with the individually articulated legs keeping all four wheels on the ground. Conquering extreme gradients and huge ruts with complete ease, all while staying upright.
There are plans for a 2-seater version as well as a possible joystick steering version that might suit disabled riders. If you’re looking for a stable and silent, emission-free recreational 4-wheeler vehicle that's able to conquer most uneven terrains, the Swincar might just be for you.
